Series of topical seminars was proposed at the General assembly in Shenyang (25-28 June 1997) where Asia Pacific Society for Advances materials (APSAM) was transformed into Asia Pacific Academy of Materials (APAM).
Since then two successful seminar were organized: in Moscow, Russia in the period 12-15 May 1998 " Technological and control equipment for production of high pure substances, clean room technique" and in Hsinchu, Taiwan, 18-19 December 1998 " Asian priorities in Materials development". The third topical seminar will be held in Academy town near Novosibirsk, Russia in the period 7-9 June 1999. The Academy town is headquarters and main science center of Siberian branch of Russian academy of sciences. Located 30 km to south of Novosibirsk, the biggest city in Asian part of Russia, in midst of beautiful Siberian forest at the bank of "Ob sea", the Academy town hosts at the moment more than 30 academic institutes, Novosibirsk state university, a number of experimental plants and pilot production units of high tech items and materials.
Seminar sessions will be held in premises of HOUSE OF SCIENTISTS - center for different kind of activity of Academy town residents.
The seminar program will include plenary lectures, contributed talks, poster presentation and round table discussion. The program seminar is divided in following sections:
Session 1: INTERCALATION AND CLUSTER COMPOUNDS
Session 2: NEW METHODS OF INVESTIGATION OF MATERIAL
PROPERTIES
Session 3: DIFFERENT MODIFICATION OF CARBON
Session 4: BORON AND SILICON COMPOUNDS
Session 5: DIFFERENT MATERIALS
Nearly 150 papers are submitted for presentations. Scientists from China, India, Japan, Korea, Russia, Taiwan and Uzbekistan are going to participate in third APAM topical seminar.

Program of Seminar
You can find the tentative program and list of participants of APAM seminar in WEB
site of Institute of Inorganic Chemistry SB RAS. In a few days it will
appear on WEB
site which is now at last stage of preparation.
Oral presentation - 20 min.
Poster presentation - Size of poster is 140 x 110 cm
In the day of presentation authors are requested to place their posters at the board
by 9:00 am.
All manuscripts of papers presented at the seminar will be peer reviewed and based upon committee recommendations, acceptable manuscripts will published in "Chemistry for Sustainable Development" journal.
Typescripts (original and one copy) and electronic version (Word for Windows 6.0/7.0 ) should be submitted in Organizing Committee during registration. Volume of the manuscript should not exceed 8 pages.
Typescripts should be typed in English, or German, double spaced and single-sided on A-4 sheets and should be numbered beginning with the title-page. The first page of an article should contain only (1) the title of the paper, the name (s) and address(es) of the author(s), (2) a short title, (3) the name and address of the author to whom correspondence and proofs should be sent. An abstract of 50-200 words should follow the title-page on a separate sheet.
Headings and subheadings for different sections of the paper (e.g.,
Introduction,
Methods, Results, Discussion) should be clearly indicated. Units of
measurement,
abbreviations and symbols should follow the International System of Units
(SI).
Equations and formulae should be typewritten. Equations should be numbered
consecutively with Arabic numerals in parentheses on the right-hand side of
the
page. Special symbols should be identified in the margin.
Tables should be supplied with short informative titles and numbered consecutively in Arabic numerals. Tables may be reproduced by photo-offset, i.e. directly from the typed manuscript. Figures in a form suitable for reproduction should be submitted separately from the text as original drawings in Indian ink, or as high contrast, sharp photographs on glossy paper. Lettering on figures should be proportional to the size of the figure to ensure legibility after reduction. On the back of each figure the orientation of the figure and the author and figure number should be indicated. All figures and tables should be cited consecutively in the text and a list of short descriptive captions should be provided at the end of the paper.
References should be cited in the text using a number in square brackets in order of appearance. References should be listed at the end of the paper in numerical order.
